Why does his cat cry so darn much?!?!?
My boyfriend’s cat is the most annoying little bunny jumping cat Ive ever had to listen to, no kidding!
Me and my boyfriend tend to close the door of our bedroom so that spoiled cat doesn’tt come in due to we are expecting our first daughter. Any whoo..
Every single morning at 3am that cat sits by our door and begins to cry….. then his cry gets louder…… and louder…. and louder till I cant take it anymore. Before I used to chase him around the living room to scare him off the bedroom door. No harm. 10 minutes would pass and that cat would be right by the door finishing the meowing he had started again.
Now I wake my boyfriend up (due to his a heavy sleeper and plus.. IT IS his cat) and he cant even get him to shush up. If food, water and attention wont shut him up, what would???
Please answer…
Sinecrely, Bags under her eyes.
Well maybe he just loves your boyfriend to much and u shouldnt come between them hmp……lol

Open the door if the cat jumps on the bed push him off if you do it enough he will get the message.

Consider removing the cat from the family. Just because that little beast wants to maintain it’s own hours doesn’t mean you need to curse it’s existence while it’s pleasantly napping in the morning sun because you’re tired. F*** that little jerk and send him on his way. Anyone who doesn’t pull their own in the family is out.
What would shut him up? Permanent residence at the kennel.

A) get a dog. make sure the dog hates cats. let the dog sleep in your bedroom. no problemo.
B) spray the cat with water EVERY time it is annoying you like this.
C) get rid of the cat and get a dog. in this case, it doesn’t matter if the dog likes cats.

Some cats are just loud. If it’s affecting your sleep especially because you’re pregnant tell your boyfriend he needs to figure it out now, even if it means getting rid of the cat because his daughter should be his top priority, not his pet.

Does it have to go out to use the bathroom? Does it have a health issue (stomach ache)? You can always take it to the vet to make sure its not health-related.
Also, aside from the obvious (you’re pregnant) what changes have you made to the cat’s environment? This includes feeding schedules, bed/bed placement, new food, new litter, change in work schedule, etc? Cats do not like big change and will protest. Some cats do worse than just cry…some will pee on your bed to express dislike. The kitty is a member of the family (whether u like it or not) and something is bothering it. Try and figure it out and all your lives will be happier.

Maybe the cat gets lonely at night and just wants to be with you. I have three cats and they usually keep each other company. One is only a foster but I love him as if he were my own. I let them sleep on the bed with me if they want too and they usually stay at the foot of the bed. Sometimes I wake up in the morning and one will be cuddled up with me but I think it is cute. I am part of their little kitty herd lol.

My cat used to do this same exact thing and my husband and I were just dying! I couldn’t figure out what on earth she wanted – she had food, water, toys, what more could there be? I too searched online about why cats do this and what to do to make it stop.. some sites said it was for attention and to ignore it (yeah right, the howling would never stop!!), some sites said to lock her out of the room, or squirt a water bottle at her. Anyway, I eventually realized that she just wanted some snuggles and attention! She’s very attached to me, and I think maybe in the middle of the night she gets bored and wants me to get up and hang out with her. Instead, I sort of snap my fingers (while still laying in bed), call her into the room, and tap the bed, sort of "inviting" her to lay down. Then when she does, I pet her for a little while and we all (happily!) fall back asleep. Maybe your boyfriend’s cat just wants some snuggle time? Hope this helps!!

He might need to go to the bathroom unless you have a litter box, he might want to go outside, and play. cats are like that, they love outside.

maybe it just wants to be with people and hates being alone maybe you should get it a friend

I’ve had cats who were waking up early and doing the same thing. Usually some combination of things will get them to mellow out. Some good things to try are:
* More exercise/play activity for the cat during the day/evening so he will be really tired and sleep throught the night;
* lots of toys, maybe a cat tree, so the cat will have more to do on his own when he’s feeling restless (there are some amazing toys out there that will distract almost any cat — try something like http://www.amazon.com/Bergan-Turbo-Scrat cher-Colors-Vary/dp/B000IYSAIW/ref=sr_1_ 1?ie=UTF8&s=home-garden&qid=1258 690443&sr=8-1 );
* get another cat so he will have a companion/playmate (but it may take a couple months for them to become friends).
Worst case, if you have a spare room that’s not too small, when he starts crying close him in there with water, food, toys, litter box. This may discourage him from crying, and let you sleep longer.
Also, try FeliWay or NaturVet Quiet Moments sprays. These are herbal supplements for cats, available online for $10-$20. Works great for some cats, not others. You can also talk to the vet about giving the cat a small dose of antidepressant/antianxiety medication; this is becoming a more common treatment for animals with behavioral problems that are hard to solve.
Be patient and creative. Cats are complicated creatures, like people. You have to try to understand what his issues might be and try different approaches. Even if you don’t like this cat, your boyfriend probably does, and you should be considerate of his feelings (as well as the cat’s).

Why are you locking him out to begin with? He can likely sleep very nicely by the foot of the bed without being obnoxious if you train him to do so. Let him in the room and if he starts climbing on you say "NO" and put him where you want him to sleep, do that a couple of times, if he’s still climbing on you, put him off the bed and onto the floor (don’t throw or kick him, just place him), if he does it again, put him out of the room and close the door. When he’s yowling outside the door, put him in the bathroom and close that door…. each breech of the rule of where he sleeps gets him put further away from the humans…. a few nights of this and he’ll figure it out, sleep where you want him to and not wake you up in the middle of the night.
Going out there and chasing him around means it works… he’s getting attention and rewarded for the behavior you don’t want to be reinforcing…. so don’t do it. Once he’s out of the room if he’s yowling, unceremonious placement in the bathroom with the door closed is the only response he should get… no conversation, no playing "chase the kitty"….. no positive reinforcement at all.
